The Black Hole OST Track 5 Six Robots

This part plays when Captain Holland (Robert Forster) sees a funeral being carried out by the humanoids aboard the USS Cygnus. He then procedes to walk into the crew quarters and examines some things in one of the rooms.

This piece has a very haunting sound to it at the beginning, but then gradually goes into a subtle melody, which is a trademark of any John Barry score.

@cdieckman Yeah, that part still gives me the creeps in some ways. And with the almost tranquil music that starts at 0:30 while he's exploring the quarters, it just ratchets it up a bit.

i adore this score,ethereal,moody,melanchol­y, it really gave the film a wonderful sorrowful tone. its a real shame the entire score has never been released, there are so many gorgeous cues from the film that dont apear on the LP. very sad. maybe one day. lets hope the remake next year will renew Disneys interest in the film and score.

I think by far this is Barrys most consistent score of all time, every cue is sublime ! Even better than the excellent Living daylights s/track, his Bond swansong.

The signature style of John Barry like many other film score composers (all sound the same).If I missed the open title chances are I might say it sounds like so and so composer. The score here sounds like a bit Rise The Titanic that was scored a few years later.
