@Gnomitolindo Yes, I was a kid of 11 in 1967. I began listening to the Beatles, Stones 4 years earlier. Christmas 1967 was a bummer. Mt cousin was killed in Viet Nam on Dec. 5th. My Cristmas list that year was Are You Experienced - Hendrix, Disraeli Gears - Cream. I wanted nothing else. At 11 I was so influenced by music I started playing. I think there are some great players today but none with the originality and magic of Jimi. Of course that's just an opinion. To each his own.

Before Hendrix made it to the "big time", he already had 1000 gigs under his belt. Alot of bands that make it big in today's world seem to be missing something. Mabey because they use the internet more than they perform live in front of a live audience.

One of the coolest people to have played guitar. Not disrespecting today's guitar playersbut alot of "top" guitarists in today's world seem to be missing that natural raw edge that Jimi had. Alot of them don't have the whole package like Hendrix did. Take away all of their effects and computer technology...give them an acoustic guitar and have them play. Do the same thing with Hendrix and he would still deliver the same raw enrgy and still do amazing solos while holding down the rythm.

mann ist das laut, da klingeln die ohren, aber der jimi kann nicht leiser u. wenn er nicht gestorben wäre...........dann wär er schon längst auf beiden ohren gehörlos.

Hendrix in 240p is still better than any pop!
This must be the gig Paul McCartney was in the audience. They had launched Sgt Pepper's two days before this concert. He was amazed by that!

Most of todays guitarists are either punk with little or no ability and happy to remain there, or graduates of a music school with a lot of education and theory. When Jimi came along you played in a band and risked being drafted and sent to Viet Nam or you went to college and started a straight career. I doubt there will be a guitarist as influential as Jimi any time soon. Todays musicians don't seem to be as creative. Most of todays hits are covers. I'm glad to be old, I experienced real music
