  • Your probably hitting the extended slide release unintentionally when firing it, put the release lever that came with the glock back on, see if it continues to happen... I see this same problem with most people who recently added an extended release... just a thought

  • @bestbod85 Oh I never thought of that thanks for the comment man.

  • hey maybe the slide release lever spring is behind the top locking block pin it should be under the top locking block pin.

  • @lynette1953 ill check that out thanks.

  • Check the Slide release spring, sounds like your spring doesn't have the tension it needs and the action moving back is enuff to cause the slide lock to slide up and lock back the slide, if the slide lock spring had more tension you wouldn't have that problem. might want to go back to the factory slide lock and spring. I've had this problem before and thats definitely what it sounds like.

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo Ok when I go back to the range ill bring the stock one and swap them out.

    Thanks alot for answering man.

  • Trying racking the slide manually with a loaded magzine and see if it locks when empty. If it only locks back when shooting, it's your right hand thumb riding under the slide release.

  • One possibility is that you're using the wrong slide stop(slide release). The G36's slide stop is unique to that model, and as far as I know Glock doesn't make an extended one for it. LoneWolfDist and Glockmeister do though. Another possibility is that you installed it incorrectly, the locking block pin must be in the frame before you install the slide stop. Lastly you may be bumping the slide stop with your hand upon recoil.

  • try putting the original part back in.

  • @boosted28 yeah i just realized that :)

  • Nooooo :)

  • @lynette1953 LOL thats what I thought when I bought the gun but that is how it comes from factory.
