1974 Ironhead Startup

One of the first startups after clearing the fuel line. It's a 74 Ironhead I just got off ebay from a retiree in North Carolina who is thinning his herd.

Really cool custom details on the bike. I will be changing some things to make the bike mine but I am currently torn on the racer paint. It's grown on me.

This is my first harley after owning a 600cc and 750cc Shadow. I now understand the bond between man and Harley.

I have a '75 Ironhead and mine was always a real cold hearted bitch to start too! I still have the original Keihn carb. on mine and thought about upgrading to the S&S Super E carb. too! Mine is kick only but I'm seriously thinking about putting the "Easy" button on mine because it can be a real bitch to kick over and over and I'm not getting any younger!

I have to say, watching that does make me appreciate the fuel injection on the 2008 1200 Sportster I rode recently. I got it out for a little winter battery charging run, it was 41 degrees. I just hit the button and PHOOOM - it was running. Carbs were great in their time, but EFI rules. Nice bike, though.
