Dos Dedos Mis Amigos by Pop Will Eat Itself

PWEI is a band from Stourbridge, England that formed in 1986. They were like the underground alternative to mainstream English bands like EMF and Depeche Mode. The eventually began getting more experimental with their sound and were also influenced by industrial and hip hop music.

Trent Reznor helped co-produce this album. It is easily PWEI most serious, hard edged album, although it does have some lighter moments. All the riffs and drumming were heavier sounding. Samples sounded more industrial, but maintained a degree of catchiness and danceability.

PWEI have always been a band that uses social commentary and humor in their music. The poke fun at themselves, the music industry and the world in general, even though some of this album has a very serious tone.

The songs on here are fairly varied. They go from industrial rock, to some techno dance flavored bits. It can be tense at times, trippy at others. Some songs have a little disco and funk influences. This album also makes heavy use out of samples. It samples things like Led Zeppelin's Kashmir and the theme from Terminator 2.

Not a bad album. Some of the lyrics are cheesy, but for the most part they are alright. I think fans of catchy sounding industrial tinged bands, like Marilyn Manson, NIN, Ministry, Primal Scream, Rammstein, will enjoy most of the songs on here. A good album that didn't get very much attention back in the day.

This album brings back hella memories! I fuckin' love this record! I still say "Ich Bin Ein Auslander" all the time.

Nice treat for me to see this review on thanksgiving day.

This sounds cool Phil. kind of like Dope Hat from Marilyn Manson's Portrait Of An American Family. Maybe I will check these guys out, especially if they've featured in Beavis and Butt-Head, what a show!!!
