  • Sounds like a great way for third-party candidates to get their foot in the door.

  • @TheRadicalRyushin ~ See :The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, signed on February 2, 1848. Mexico ceded to the United States the present-day states of California, Nevada, Utah, and parts of Colorado, Arizona, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Wyoming. Uneducated? You don't even know your own history...

  • No it wasn't. America is no more than 1 country at any point of its existence in much the same as Georgia and Serbia. Irregardless of Kosovo. A country is never truly independent until its host body recognizes it.

"with the North divided into slave-holding and non-slaveholding states"

The North didn't divide. So stupid.

"the western part of the continent was not in the Union or the Confederacy. "

California wasn't a state in the Union? LOL!

You need to hit the books more, so uneducated.

  • You seem very impressed with yourself without demonstrating any valid reason. Your 'data' is opinion, not based on information. The supposed separatist movement in Italy, the Northern League has been in a series of coalition governments and has deemphasized any separatist inclinations in favor of greater autonomy for northern industrial Italy, now not semi-autonomous as a unit...this opposition, according to Italian media, is based on the perception that the north tax-supports the south .

  • @TheRadicalRyushin~ In 1863, America was 2 countries, with the North divided into slave-holding and non-slaveholding states; the western part of the continent was not in the Union or the Confederacy. One country my ass! Italy has 20 regions, of which 5 have semi-autonomous status (equivalent to US States with a separate state government). There are 38 political parties in Israel. Eleven share 26 seats among them, the largest with 5. Another 22 parties elected no members. No splinter parties?

  • And yes I know Ireland has a different system as compared to Italy or Israel, but it would still work differently and better because Ireland is not a multi-national state with regions like Friuli or Tuscany that want to secede. Italy is full of regional parties and each of these regional parties seek secession. Italy will dissolve.

And unlike Israel, Ireland is not situated near any aggressive neighbors. The United Kingdom is hardly what I would call "aggressive." So Ireland would be different

  • If you want to argue that PR is so horrible, please use exact instances that cannot be argued as something spurious. I hope you know what spurious is, because arguing that Italy proves PR is so horrible or cannot work, which is what just argued specifically by saying that I know Jack when it comes to these countries or to PR. So don't deny it. What you argued was a spurious correlation.

You would have a different result if we were talking about Ireland rather than Italy or Israel, dumbass.

  • What you said about America is bullshit, what you said about Israel is double bullshit, and your whole emphasis about splinter parties doesn't even coincide with any factual basis.

Sorry, but you don't know shit about the countries you are even talking about.

Italy suffers from lack of national cohesion. It is Spain. Italy = Spain. Enough said. Of course that was a metaphor by the way, dumbass.

Israel suffers from being what it is, not because of splinter parties. It is because of Palestine.

  • Only politically united, not culturally or nationally united. You want to know what else was politically united? Yugoslavia. Enough said.

"not that much less than the reunification of the United States in 1865"

America consists of a single nation, Italy consists of over twelve nations. Italy is more divided up than Yugoslavia.

    "You know jack!"

No, you know jack, you fucking piece of shit. Go back to your troll bridge and stay there.

  • @TheRadicalRyushin ~Really?? Italy has been unified since 1871, not that much less than the reunification of the United States in 1865. Since WWII, Italy has has more governments than the US has had presidents in its entire history. Israel is a close 2nd, and has a history of small splinter parties holding the balance of power due to PR. You know jack!
