Sarah P, try this experiment: Become a homosexual with genuine feelings of attraction to someone of the same sex (assuming you are a heterosexual of course). If you are able to do this then you know that, for you at least, it is a choice. Don't worry, you can change back too if it's a choice. Fail, and it's pretty clear sexuality is not a choice for you.

It's not going to affect you negatively if gays and lesbians are allowed to get married, if you're so worried about how it will affect your religion than you are obviously not very strong within it in the first place. You know, I apologize for what I have said on here about homosexuality being a choice and blah blah blah.
