Shine on You Crazy Diamond

Some pretty naff mistakes here, but still learning! Licklibrary backing track on iPod, Fender custom shop Strat, EMG pickups, Boss GT8 and Mesa F50. Appreciate comments on what might be missing with the tone, haven't quite nailed it yet. Apologies for the knees!!

hello very good playing

i am also trying to get the gilmour tone

i was ganna upgrade to emgs just like gilmour did but the only ones i can find are black emg sa what are yours there white like gilmours and no being nosey but how much the ones i were ganna get were 200 for the 3

Really sorry noel and osh, only just found your questions. Firslty, they are the EMG DG30s i.e. the David gilmour set. $300 off ebay including delivery to UK, half price what I could get them in the shop - they were sealed and brand new. Installed them myself, reaaly easy as they come attached to the pickguard too. Only 2 springs on my trem, and the 9v battery fits perfectly between them under the trem cover!! No hiss, try resoldering the connections.

DG20. Got 'em off EBay from the States, even with delivery they were half the UK price and very easy to fit. Just got a decent echo pedal so I'm going to re-do the vid, it really does the DGs justice at long last and the sound is now gorgeous.

Hi Riot, I don't wanna mean rude but it's a matter of getting used to the EMGs and learn how to use them. They can sound either crunchy or as clean as an acoustic guitar.

EMG's have the worse distortion ever... i work in the US thomann cyberstore and every year i ask the same thing: why are the EMG's more expensive than ibanez rg's?

Hey Fireblade...hoping to get first strat soon after taking 2 college guitar courses due to hearing David Gilmours playing. How do you get the bell like tone from the strat..the EMG pickups or other effects? Need to get that sound...
