only other game that does this that I know of is Ground Control 2 but Even then you have to use your mouse on the side of the screen to rotate

Yeah, I forgot about WiC, and have since been brought up on it by a fair few people. :P
The preview showed a few modes that had more than just 2 players. I'm not sure what the maximum number is, though.

I read on the wiki that there would be four. Does Multiwinia have a spectator option too?

Not that I'm aware of...although their previous game, DEFCON, did, I think.
