The Academy Awards, affectionately known as the Oscars, have been presented annually since 1927 by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS). The first awards ceremony was held on May 16, 1929, to honour outstanding film achievements of 1927 and 1928.
The Academy Award for Best Motion Picture is considered the most important of the Academy Awards, as it is the final result of the collaborative producing, directing, acting, and writing efforts put forth for a film.

Music themes:
1. Limelight ― the Academy Award for Best Original Music Score winner (1972) ― composed by Charles Chaplin, Raymond Rasch (posthumous award), Larry Russell (posthumous award)
Note: This film was originally released in 1952, but did not play in Los Angeles until 1972, at which point it become eligible for nomination.

2. Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom composed by John Williams ― the Academy Award for Best Original Music Score nominee (1984)
