she looks like super nanny!!!

Wow, I feel awkward watching this.

'Sue's faces are the best?!' Come on, you don't what to lose your performers by having them burst out laughing.
-
ok. here she does a better job. more expression and more intuitiveness of the nature of the peice. she moves with extra movements that are not necessary. it violates the tradition of "take the stages quietly, do your job quietly, and then leave quietly!" Sorry I accord with the German tradition with a bit of expressiveness. I am a mixed breed here with conducting. I think she could handle a choir no problem, but I could not see her as an orchestral conductor.

I don't understand how they didn't even impart the basics of conducting to some of them! Not even downbeats in some parts! Thank god Sue picked it up. Conducting a choir is hard as well. She did really well.

it must be weird to conduct and see your face on a giant >200in projector screen

She's actually quite a good musician. Sue for the win!

But you must remember that they are making a TV programme; this isn't real conducting, this is television. Although she needs to find a beat pattern other than 1, 1, 1, 1, she does express the sound she's trying to get at, and at the end of the day, the only thing that really matters is the music you produce.
