thank you for sharing this. i need to figure out how to break into creating production music for these guys for more tech type stuff. i got my work cut out for me with studying and learning as much as i can about this.

God, I've been digging for an hour, and so far the only information I can find on that album that the guy is holding at 2:42 (the one that Gnarles Barkley sampled) is that its catalog # or whatever, is BMG BMP 3001 But I don't know where to go from here. If you google "BMG BMP 3001" it's the only result, and then CTRL F in that page and search BMG BMP 3001 again, and you'll see it. That's all I can find about it =(

Nice to see this. All I would say is that production library music has ALWAYS been high quality - at least from the top libraries like KPM, Chappells, DeWolfe etc. It's the buiyout libraries that tend to rely on el cheapo synth productions.

I completely agree with you, the older compositions were produced to an incredible quality, and in my opinion far better than some of the music which is coming out now.
