Hear TEN Four Freshmen (and the audience) sing "It's a Blue World" and "Day by Day." The "Ten Freshmen" are Brian Eichenberger, Curtis Calderon, Vince Johnson, and Bob Ferreira (all from Group 22, 2001-present), Bob Flanigan and Ross Barbour (1948 Originals), Ray Brown (1973-77) Rod Henley (1982-87) Kirk Marcy (1987-88), and Greg Stegman (1989-2001).

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I teetered on whether or not to go that year. It would have been my first FFC, and it was the closest one to my neck of the woods. Learning of Bob's passing caused me to really regret not taking the opportunity. Meeting him would have been a bigger thrill than meeting Jimmy Page. I'm not kidding, I grew up in the 70s. So I am all the more grateful that I can experience some small part of what must have been a real gem of a time. Thank you. :)

  • @bennoach — Thanks for your comments. May I recommend another video to you. It is from the 2009 convention where I had the pleasure of sitting with Bob Flanigan at the banquet the night we celebrated his 83rd birthday. Search YouTube for Bob Flanigan's Birthday.

  • Yes, but this performance was uniquely inspirational. It was from a previously unrevealed place in the core of Bob's heart. His grasp of the lyrics' storyline made it a transcendent experience--one when you forget to breathe.

I observed the effect his artistry was having on the audience. This was a moment!

  • There were 600 people there. Perhaps someone else recorded it. I was not in a good position to record Bob as I was seated on the side opposite his position on the stage. I wonder if the "house camera" was also recording? I didn't have a tripod with me and my arms are not strong enough to hold the camera long enough to get everything. Sorry.

  • Excellent posting, Tom. Now may we see/hear Bob Ferreira's standing-ovation performance on "How Do You Keep the Music Playing"? --Laura Skylark

  • Unfortunately, I did not record the whole concert and did not get Bob's solo. Isn't it on the Las Vegas DVD?

  • Day by day... the tenor voice is mic'd a bit too much. Doesn't sound 100%. Wait... the guy is 70 years old... wow. This is just a great piece of music. Thank you.

  • I'm applauding in front of my computer.

  • I grew up with these guys and saw them live a few times. My dad let me play his "Freshmen Favorites" LP when I was a kid. I still have it and it will always remind me of him. My iPod and CD collection is full of their music. Thank you for posting this!!

  • Is a >Blue World without them..
