After spray and stretch of the muscles, I palpate the muscles to find the trigger points. They are harder than the other parts of the muscle and usually a little painful compared to the rest of the muscle. The most important trigger point for Jaana is in the sternocleidomastoid muscle, in the middle part of it. It is a common tinnitus triggering place for other patients too. The trigger points are not in the same place in everyone and they have to be located by fingers all round the neck and in the masticatory muscles. I use Lidocain 1% and inject 0.2-0.5 millilitres to each point, usually 2 to 5 points in one session (Marja Estola).
