I gotta say, even though the first fight against Cortex isn't very hard, I prefer it to all other ones because of its... almost epic... atmosphere. The "Darn you, Crash Bandicoot!" line, his badass laugh all along, the burning castle in the background and Cortex's theme music, which is also darker than in the later games. Love it!

I'd like to play the game through again, but I'm stuck to the level "Road To Nowhere" T_T

Crash 2's Cortex was a joke.

This one is harder but not as hard as 3.

guys don't look at cortex as if he was too easy. Think about it this way: some of the levels in this game are brutally hard, even if your not going for the gems. I remember getting stuck for hours in some levels like road to nowhere, sunset vista and slippery climb among others. You got to the endgame and after all the trouble, you are welcome to break at the end.

@krane6457 I always pictured that crash just walks in Cortex's room and he shoots but hits something behind him making the castle start on fire then proceeding to his airship
