  • If you lived in this part of the country, you would have a different opinion of coal miners. For the people in the Appalachians, it is sometimes the only place to make a decent living for your family. My grandfather was a coal miner, and he died from black lung disease that progressed into cancer. How do you think you get electricity? Most electric power plants run on COAL.

  • Beautifully done.

  • Coal miners are not asking to have a death wish there are simply asking to be the provider for there families and giving many people that don't understand there jobs light and energy everyday. Coal miners in my eyes are my everyday heroes and that's the way they should be thought as.

  • west virginia and mississippi are grim

  • logan west virginia is a, hundred miles behind. coal mine took my boys life and my janies piece of mind. but all i know is back in logan and i ain't ever been that smart. i knew i had to leave here, to heal my janies heart.
