Heavy Rain was the only game that I own that appeals to everyone of all ages. No joke, my family would gather around the TV for dinner, and for about a week, they just watched me play Heavy Rain. It was a shared experience that none of us would forget. I for one am incredibly excited for Beyond: Two Souls. The chance to share that experience with other loved ones.. I really believe that Cage is the future of the industry.

In other words, you want games to become a story book that you walk through? Well, that's shit. The point of a game IS challenge, not to make a good story.

"You can have sex and violence if there's a context. If it adds to the story."

Oh you mean like that totally story building moment in heavy rain where a girl has a shower scene before she's attacked by ninjas and then it turns out to be a dream? Yep, that was completely nessecary.

Okay, to everyone who's saying that David Cage is arrogant and full of crap, he's actually the most modest video game developer out there. He even admitted that he was dissatisfied with Heavy Rain and said that it could've been much better, although the game is one of the best out there. And he doesn't really want to change gaming into interactive movies, he's just saying that games can be a powerful art form.

at the end of the day it doesnt matter how much youre talking bout the human condition or how buff and gritty the violence its, its just a toy. Also videogames are interactive animation, compare to non-interactive animation, which is much more child-oriented. I dont think its a weakness but a strenght of animation that you can do anything you want, have fantastical "wonderland" settings, the more realistic it tries to be, the more it is apparent its not. Why make a CGI movie if you can just film

You're wrong. It's about extending the preconception of what "gameplay" is in a game. I think we are totally stagnant about that right now (especially in 3D games). I know where you're coming from, but I do think Cage has interesting perspective and approach to this.
