This use MPX, a new Xorg feature. So Ubuntu 9.10 will come with this. You can use it with anything. Three mouses, two touchscreens devices, what you want.

the technology used in this demo ( MERL diamondtouch) is not like other multitouch surface.
you have to be in contact with an antenna to interact with the table, thus, each user has a different antena and the DiamondTouch know who point at a place.
The weaknessof this feature is that, when users touch each other, the table is confused and it's what happen in the example. (the two electric field are combined).

I use ubuntu linux a lot, and i have a simple question i would like to ask..
I saw the guys drawing, and at one point during the multiuser paint demonstration when the person on the right was drawing a face, it seemed like a blue line just JUMPED across the screen like the 2nd user had put his finger down and it connected a line between the two points, how are they handling the two different inputs so the computer doesnt get confused and do like it did in that example?
