@GoldenAgeSunshine Agree. Netrebko (and many others) will never have the musical taste that Callas had. It's just a gift.

The musicality remains sovereign, and while the voice is worn, she doesn't really disgrace herself either. The big high note is rough, but what came before was actually remarkably poised and steady. And NO soprano, I mean NO SOPRANO, sings the middle section with such heartbreaking elegance...she creates magic where other sopranos prefer to glide over, and that was her genius.
