@Delticola The Jeep Dealership at the Mall of Georgia, Buford GA. spent 5 weeks on the repair, probably with parts on order, replaced burned parts, cost just under $1000. Sent me on my way, two weeks of driving to work 30 miles round trip and the vehicle caught on fire again, same cause, same problem, transmission problems kicking out fluid onto the exhaust system. This time however I was driving for several miles while the car was on fire and the guy behind me saw flames under car, called 911

My 2005 CRD Liberty caught on fire 3 days ago and I think the transmission was to blame. I got the fire put out within about 2 minutes, ran to a near by building and got a fire extinguisher. Rabiesthecat commented below to watch for problems, I think I was rather stupid for purchasing them. I have 2, and 05 and an 06. I think the engine is fine the but there seems to be some other problems. The 06 air conditioner compressor makes all kinds of racket, 1/2 block away I know my wife is home.

Where did you get the roof rack? I'd love one for our CRD Liberty....
Hey Biker. Not a member of LA4x4 but have done two different rides with them. Seems like a great group. I really enjoyed my time with them. Actually was going to join but then 'life' got in the way. Are you a member? In the area I assume...?

Hey Kcfoxie. Its a Garvin Wilderness roof rack. I ordered it online many years ago when my wife had an 02 liberty gasser but I don't recall where from. I do know that it isn't cheap!
