This is Santa Muerte altar in Mexico City's la Lagunilla area on Calle Peralvillo. This was the third anniversary celebration of this BIG altar. Lots of people showed up for the mass, some bringing their own Santa Muerte from home so as to have it blessed from the Padre. This was held in Mexico City's Lagunilla on Calle Peravillo close to Calle Francisco Gonzalez Bocanegra.
It was most interesting to say the least.

The removal of the hands is part of a ritual; There are statues of her with removable hands for this ritual. You carry the hand for protection or some desire when going out; and return it when coming home
