So after thinking about it I would have done the exact same thing as Shannon. He spent a lot of money and time building that rig and he went to KOH to race. He had a damn impressive finish even with a transmission change. As far as driving over 52X it might have been a little rude since he was DQ'd but the crowd LOVED it. If I was in his shoes I would have done the same. Kudos to Shannon for "fixing" what he messed up and replacing the guys shocks and then some!

The video is kind of shitty quality (sorry) but it was a sight to see.

Shannon should have been a little more respectful but still after a complete transmission replacement he had a top 5 time. If he didn't have the transmission problem he would have probably easily taken the number one spot.

Also, he did break the Schrader valve on the other buggies ORI strut; that buggy had to limp home across the desert and gave up a number of positions before crossing the finishing line.

I got the same video of this happening. It was B.S. what shannon campbell did by driving over the other guys rig. I was camped next to guys that shannon drove over and he gave them 2 new air shocks, paid for their entry into the race next year and gave them $700 cash for any other repairs.  It sucked what shannon did in the race but at least he tried to make it right

I agree, I think Shannon owes this guy a set of new shocks since he ripped them out.... If he wasn't DQ'd anything goes.... but it was one hell of a show.

I don't really care the the "rest" of the story is that sure is a messed up thing to do when you really aren't even in competition at that point. I can see if you are still competing but come on now.........................th­is was crap.

Shannon asked the race organizers if he could still run the course, and they allowed him. He didn't do anything the people in charge of the race didn't allow, you guys need to get the whole story before you bash on him.

He is easily one of the nicest guys I have ever met, and has helped us and countless other racers every chance he gets.

Campbell is the man!

I know Shannon didn try to go around him with intensions on even hitting 52x's rig, this is a race guys, you screw up and wreck be prepared to get passed, He made it right in the end so congrats to him!!

I don't see why Campbell was allowed back on th route after being DQ . He had his chance and blew it. Should have stayed out of the way of other competors who had a chance. 52x will be heard from in the future. He does not do anything half way. Go WILL WILL WILL WILL be back. Count on it. Be very afraid big timers Be afraid. This old timer will be watching.
