Stan Fox's HORRIFIC Indy Car Crash

This was a very bad crash, I cant remember the quote but when stan was being loaded into the ambulance, his helmet broke in two

A picture from the crash was in the newspaper the following day, they had a shot of the car vertical against the wall and his legs dangling out on the front page. It was pretty shocking.

I recently looked up a few more videos of the crash and it happened in 1995. I was 12 when it happened. I remember seeing his car with the entire front missing and his legs sticking out the front and it went almost straight on into the wall. It was very shocking.

... How about Alex Zanardi having both of his legs taken "clean" off with the front end of the car?

Zanardi's legs weren't taken off with the car. He had them amputated after the wreck because they were too badly damaged.

Yes actually Alex's legs were taken partially off by the crash.

I remember reading about how one of the safety workers slipped when he approached the crash. At first he thought it was fluid from the car but then realized he had slipped in Zanardi's blood. Zanardi was always one of my favorite racers. I miss him.

Alex's legs were blown off in the crash. There was a feature on "Real Sports" on HBO a few years ago that featured Alex, and there were a couple of VERY graphic pictures shown. One was a still shot where you could see chunks of flesh flying through the air. The other was a track video camera that zoomed in and showed Alex's open legs with blood pouring from them.
