Adobe Photoshop CS4: The Truth

This is the real truth about Adobe Photoshop CS4 is like. You may have seen all those Adobe demonstrations where everything runs smoothly, lag and error free.

I am proud to show you the outtake of the video "Adobe Photoshop CS4: 3D Composition" and what happened when trying to film the video.

Seriously though, this was the first error I got and it is probably a one off. It is just to show you that Photoshop does not always run perfectly.

I do not need a faster computer, if Photoshop requires 4GB to do an operation like this always then it sucks. It was a programming error (as you can see from the error description) and Photoshop could have read it wrong on the fastest of computers.

ERROR DESCRIPTION
Title: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Description: Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Photoshop.exe


This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Cause: Microsoft Visual C++ Programming error

Effects: Application started to "Not respond". An end-task dialog showed. Application shutdown.

Frequency: Once, Photoshop did not have a problem reading the object before and after.

I had the same problem with CS5 Encore/After Effects/PremierePro

I had to uninstall these select programs and re-install. The error had disappeared after that.

Although my runtime error appeared at the program start. My dynamic link manager also was effected. Now it all works!

So you got a junk computer with a bad installation. Format the hard drive, reinstall Windows and then install Photoshop. Guaranteed it will run a lot smoother than this. How many million graphic designers and photographers use Photoshop every day never have a problem? Never thought to stop and think maybe it's something you did wrong and not the program.

Get a new computer, kid.

@kevinacrider I was rehearsing what I was going to do in the video. I had repeated exactly the same thing a few times before. This was mean't to be the actual take only it failed.

i get the runtime error in CS4..but i know what causes it..just dont know the fix.

if i switch to an external monitor (tv out, or whatever, using FN F8) i cant open cs4.
