@FreeMan1355 Surely the Red Navy had a song of their own, but this one is written by Basil Poledouris for the film.

@Thorondor123 um there really is a song called the Soviet Naval Hymn. This music was not composed for the movie.

@FreeMan1355 There is nothing Soviet about this. This is MUSIC FROM AN AMERICAN FILM.
@Mellowman8908 Nope, music from the film version of Hunt of The Red October.

@Thorondor123 this is basil poledouris? I thought this was the red-army choir singing this..

@Humberto4790 No troll detected. While I still find Russian culture to be a lot deeper and more interesting than the American equalivent, I'm kind of ashamed of having posted that comment here. This song was heavily inspired by Russian music, but it was none the less composed by the Greek-American Basil Poledouris.

@Fredrik1ST I don't want to sound like a troll, but that's not the case. Most of the world is "Americanized".

Great song, but its not russian - its heavily modified and... i can hear very strong accent of the chorus ( Btw, Sean' accent was so strong in the film, no russian could understand it :)
Say what you want about USSR, but it will always be cool :)).

Long Life CCCP
The Russians won a more important battle than the one fought with guns:
they won the cultural battle. This song is a perfect example of just what I'm talking of. I don't excactly know why, but Russian music gives me an entirely unique feeling while listening to it. So... otherwordly wonderful.

This is not a Russian song, though. This was written for the film version of Hunt for Red October by Basil Poledouris. So it's actually Greek-American song. :P
Sounds good nevertheless.
