In fact, I was one of those along with Phil Gramm and Jack Kemp and a number of us who, when we came into power, inflation was at 10%, interest rates were at 20%, unemployment was at 10%, I believe as I recall. I mean the economic conditions when President Reagan came into power were incredible and we went about with one common goal and that was to fix our economy and based on conservative fiscal principles..."
