no one in the bible ever prayed to mary nor had an image of jesus or god or mary in there house god even told them make NO images Jesus is the leader not the pope

we should do good deeds but that wont get us to heaven only by the GRACE of JESUS not own will get us to heaven only his grace and mercy only his good deeds

your leaders the popes call them selves holy father repesantive of christ on earth some even call themselves Jesus on earth there the oppsite of christ

@iluvursmilevanessa brother we cant go to heaven by our good works we should do good works but that wont get you to heaven just because YOU think your a good person but people always seem to forgot we all evil sinners that dersve to go hell but Jesus died for us so we by his grace NOT own can go to heaven.. PRAY TO GOD why do you worshipp saints that are dead God is the only one that hears prays he a God of the lviing not the dead worship him pray to him he the almighty

@ssrrapper But...I asked my religion teacher ( I go to a catholic school ) who taught religion for a long time, and he said that we go to heaven if THE GOOD OUTWEIGHS the bad.He did not say that you have to be saved through faith in Jesus Christ alone. In fact, I read somewhere that the Pope actually declared that anyone who is good and seeks peace can be saved..which is strongly against the Bible because Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the father but by me"

Catholics believe that you are saved through faith, just like Orthodox and Protestants. The Catholic belief that faith without works is dead COMES FROM the Bible...

"For the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." James 3:26 (KJV)

The Bible - try reading it. Also, try to base your views about Catholism on facts and personal experience instead of heresay and wild rumors.

@lion49nfl And how do we discard the bible? I have a hard time believing you were once catholic. I mean we have at least 1 reading from the old testement a day, 1 gospel reading a day, 1 psalm a day, and everything we recite in mass is biblical (straight up out of the bible), and our catechism is straight up out of the bible. If you read it you'd see all the references. We definitely do NOT discard the bible.

@lion49nfl That makes no sense. Are you saying we shouldn't have good works as a christian? Man, think of the world without good deeds. -No education, no hospitals, no care for the poor. Man, we catholics suck! All we think about is bettering humanity!! ...And, I'm sorry you feel we worship the pope, but no. Since our religion is worldwide, we need a leader to keep us on the right path, to keep us humble. And just because we ask Our Lady and saints to pray for us doesn't mean we worship them.

This title is stupid. Catholics are the first christians. Every christian religion is rooted in catholicism. The apostles formed the Church based on Christ's teachings.
