Presented in High Definition. Only once in a great while does a truly remarkable singing voice appear. All the more remarkable when it's a parrot! It is our great pleasure to introduce that truly remarkable parrot, definitely ready for Primetime, the Eclectus parrot Sam I Am!

Sam is visiting The Ballard Rain Forest while his dad recuperates from surgery. We have known Sam for years, so it was a great pleasure and total surprise to discover his talent for singing.

  • What a great vibrato Sam I Am has! Sounds like Tillie was enjoying him also. :-)

  • @phildevt Hi Phil: Parts of that aria sound really familiar. Do you have any idea what it might be? I distinctly hear a horn in there towards the end.

  • Love it! Simply Amazing!..

  • Sam does a great cornet, trumpet and trombone. He likes to accompany certain CD's and will jam by himself, when in the mood. If I enter his space, he stops. (Sam's owner)

  • I see he likes to eat blinds, too! lol

  • Did you all catch the wing flip at the end when Sam's Mom said, "That was beautiful, Sam. That was beautiful"? For those of you who are unitiated, a wing flip is a sign of pleasure. Sam flipped his right wing--camera left wing--at his Mom's compliment.

As for the melody, I think Sam was just making it up, but some of it sounded like the intro to "THE SHADOW OF YOUR SMILE".

  • No idea--I missed the horn. The song definitely had a melodic identity though, I just couldn't identify it . . . .

  • that's adorable! heh heh, the condition of those mini blinds sure look familiar... LOL
