At a recent November 3rd food donation event in Spokane, the Vertically Integrated Partnership, including Sodexo, Hirai Farms, Annie's Fun, McCain Foods and Larson Allen, donated 100,000 pounds of potatoes and several hundred Thanksgiving meals to Second Harvest as part of Tom's Turkey Drive. During the donation, Jason Clark of Second Harvest, Blaine Hirai of Annie's Fun and Hirai Farms, Pam Smith of Sodexo, Tom Sherry of KREM TV and Senate Majority Leader Lisa Brown all made remarks about positive work that the VIP is doing to help those in need.

The VIP is a coalition of farmers, food processors, food distributors, food service companies and other companies that are working together to help stop hunger in the Pacific Northwest.
