  • Sounds more like Chauncey Morehouse to me on drums, and Miff Mole's there on trombone (solo 1:08 to 1:27). It's definitely Fud Livingston taking the clarinet solo (on the bridge, 1:27 to 1:38), with Miff back again to 1:48. Jimmy Dorsey is the alto sax soloist for sure. It's TWO trumpets (Red and ? - hear 1:58 to 2:00, not Red there) and a trombone, a full brass section. GREAT SIDE !!

  • Great tune.........really swings. Rivals Bix's version.

  • At 2nd listen, there's actually seven men: Trumpet, trombone, clarinet, alto sax, guitar, piano & drums.

Listen closely at :26 - :27 and there's a slight overlap between clarinet & alto sax - sounds like Don Murray on clarinet with, of course Jimmy Dorsey and that perpetually polished sound on alto sax.

  • Couldn't say who's at piano, guitar or trombone (Bill Rank? Glenn Miller could be a possibility this early - wasn't Pollack in NYC by this time?), but I'll lay even money that that's Gene Krupa on drums.
