She was a vocal phenomenon. In the past century only Ponselle and Sutherland were blessed with comparable vocal organs (a combination of beauty, size, range, and agility). Farrell was almost completely ignored by the classical record companies -- a half dozen recitals and 2 complete operas. Imagine a recoding of Norma with her!

These are two of the best singers of the 20th century. And my absolute favorite... Great voices, great interprets... How lucky them who listened them in this opera live!
