As Palestinians Mark 60th Anniversary of Their Dispossession, a Conversation with Palestinian Writer and Doctor Ghada Karmi

Today is the sixtieth anniversary of the founding of the state of Israel, what Palestinians call the Nakba, or catastrophe, that resulted in the expulsion and dispossession of over 750,000 Palestinians from their cities and villages. Ghada Karmi is a well-known Palestinian writer and medical doctor from Jerusalem who lives in Britain. She has written several books about Palestinian history and her own experience as a refugee, including In Search of Fatima: A Palestinian Story and, most recently, Married to Another Man: Israel's Dilemma in Palestine. • why you don`t do videos about democracy in arabe countries? I am afraid of this kind of people because we see that you don`t want democracy like you say, you want only be against jewish people and Israel. Why you don`t go to IRAN, EGYPT, SYRIA, JORDAN, SAUDI ARABIA ETC TO ASK ABOUT DEMOCRACY? They are killing women, homossexuals etc...This kind of video for sure smels arabe money back.

  • I watch Democracy Now a lot, and it does do videos about all the things you've mentioned.

People need to stop using the term anti-semite so libelously, because it is seriously delegitimizing the fair use of that term.

  • Long life to Israel! Why you don't do videos about starvation and corruption around the world, for exemple in africa, or south américa...Brazil..etc?

    I think you are anti-semit and anti-jewish.

  • she said they didn't destroy the mosque in al maliha, but they did destroy the church jesus was born in. and the olive trees that existed for hundreds of years.
