Directed by Lasse Halström and based on the novel by best-selling author Nicholas Sparks, DEAR JOHN tells the story of John Tyree (Channing Tatum), a young soldier home on leave, and Savannah Curtis (Amanda Seyfried), the idealistic college student he falls in love with during her spring vacation. Over the next seven tumultuous years, the couple is separated by Johns increasingly dangerous deployments. While meeting only sporadically, they stay in touch by sending a continuous stream of love letters overseas--correspondence that eventually triggers fateful consequences.

... Try to be her .. I think you can just understand her action in the movie when you are in the

exact same situation as her. I wouldnt insult the character in the movie and the book like that .

Im currently going through a long distance relationship since 3 years now.

And he lives 16000 km away which means we can only see us once a year.

I'm an Army wife and I would never leave my husband just because he deployed often. Of course it's hard, but if you love someone, you wait for him or her to come home. I'm an enlisted soldier myself, so maybe I understand more, but the women that take off on their men because they can't handle separation are just scum. They don't deserve a military man.

She wasn't strong enough to be with a army soldier! Yes it's hard but im going through it and yes it breaks my heart but i love him and he needs someone to be here for him when he comes back home and I'm here waiting 3!
