Joseph Lstiburek, Ph.D., discusses why "going Green" has never made more sense. In fact, from now on any home that isn't Green may be obsolete. Air flow is a critical element of any Green Home - and so is tight construction. A leaky house is just another word for poor workmanship.

  • @krstone0 This guy sells his advice to the banker run code industry and insecure builders. The bankers chose him for a reason, he is one of the few out there that aren't affraid to risk health for supposed energy savings at costs that won't pay themselves back in energy savings. Higher mortgages for the same houses. I don't want his crappy designs, but they are showing up in our required codes because banker politicians don't go to the best builders for code advice they go to fiction writers.

  • @krstone0 Thats because you obviously know jack shit about building homes, along with Joe. Solid construction is all I have ever lived in, I lived in solid construction built before this guy was a sparkle in his daddy's eyes. If you believe super tight homes with mechanical ventilation is the thing to have, try it, die of cancer from high VOC levels and tell us how great they are.

  • @HomeEnergyNow

You have serious issues dude. I didn't see anything in this video that wasn't true, or warranted 4 ridiculous comments. I am also willing to bet that the one dislike was yours. If you don't like solid construction then don't buy it...

  • My grandparents are comfortable from 62 in the winter to 86 in the summer, they have tiny tiny bills, you are no help to 99.;999% of homeowners out there, you might know homes and how they work, but this dipshit doesn't know a thing about American occupants. I burn fire in the winter, how can I save energy????hmmmm This guy is all about the fame, needs to shut the fuck up.

  • I have a 3200sqft home doc, I have .30 ACH, (PASSIVE FRESH AIR VENTILATION) with no sealants, no foam, NOTHING. Every square inch of my home gets ventilated. It cost me an average of 28$/month to heat and cool my home in a fairly extreme central KS climate. Now tell me, with a 5% mortagage, what can you do for my home that will pay itself back in savings????NOTHING YOU IDIOT. I guess when your selling garbage information to idiots, you don't worry about money. Outside UNFILTERED air is my best.

  • Tell me doc, if every house in this country was super tight, how many mechanical fresh air systems would be working perfect? 1/100? 1/10? Are you looking to kill americans with your idiotic designs? From the smarter customer

1: not to smell a fart for 2 hours

2: Fresh air system requiring ZERO maintanence (passive, you idiot)

3: Cheap homes, you worry about your VOC free materials and pay 10 times price

    4: We like windows

5: We use more energy powering our toys, than heating and cooling

  • This guy is a HACK. Only Candada masters of the mobile home would give this guy any Phd.
