Video showing the construction of a typical spark-gap type Tesla Coil. There was a lot of information and I couldn't cover everything in this video. So there will be more in a part 2. But this gives some basic info for building a Tesla Coil.

these coils are not tesla coils. simply its a Rhmkorff coil. the other name is the ignetion coil. or the induction coil. by the way there is one in every car next to the battery. it takes the 12v ov the battery and gives 10,000v to the candels.
if electricity follows the path of least resistance shoudn't there be a way to project a path by laser or micrwave beam or something i saw a weapon to gaurd doors but it goes every where...i was thinking directed energy weapon if you could aim a controlled path of least resistance...i'm not educated on this stuff ijust think it's awsome
If you provided a path of low resistance, like a channel of ionized air, then yes it might be possible. In fact, this is why when you draw an arc from a high voltage transformer, the arc will usually stay on the same path, because that path of air is charged and ionized and the current will continue traveling along that path because it has the least resistance.
Good question, in order to get radiant energy into our circuit we have to give it a chance to enter the circuit by changing our wiring a bit. First off all we need both HV transformer secondaries and will wire each of the two leads to one side of a spark gap and one side of a capacitor, that will give us 2 caps, the opposite polarity terminal on each cap will term to each side of the Tesla primary . No conventional EM currents will flow on the Tesla primary only longitudinal currents.
lets see if i have it........ i have been hooking up the NST, and caps in parallel then one side through the gap to the primary. and the other side of the nst straight to the primary......... your saying no parallel everything in series---- nst-cap-primary-sparkgap-nst.. .. correct....
i tried this and it made my spark gaps purple, and my beer bottle capacitors started to pop. nothing out the secondary.
any suggestions... do i have the wiring rite.. you can im me if you have time.. thanks
