This is just a little information for those who are shipping to Army Basic Combat Training (BCT).

Things you should pack:
undergarments~ underwear/sports bra/one regular bra for you class As/Bs.
white socks that reach your calf.
hygiene supplies~ hair spray, hair ties that match your hair color, clips that match your hair

Don't pack make up!!! You can't wear it, so don't bother taking it.

Si uds hablan español, pueden hablarlo cuando están en el BAY! Su cuarto. Si uds están cerca de Americanos q hablar ingles, por respeto hacia ellos hablan en ingles también.
Or if you speak any other language, hold off until you are back at the bay on personal time. Nothing is more annoying than hearing someone gossip in another language. It's rude and you need to speak English at BCT. When you get to your duty station, speak any language you want. Regulation states as long as it doesn't interfere with the mission, you may speak another language. But basic training is different.

Do NOT flirt or sleep with any drill sergeants. That's a big NO-GO. Don't ruin someone else's career because you can't keep it in your pants. It's 9 weeks. Get over it. No drill sergeant is that hot.

If you are PV2, PFC, or SPC in basic, you are not that hot. There were SPC in my basic training that got no respect from the ds, it doesn't matter. You're all privates, no one gets more responsibility than anyone else. My PG was a PV2, and we had two SPC in my platoon who had no extra work (squad leader, PG, APG, Guidon, nothing).

Without further adieu, enjoy your bct.

  • why do you shave you eyebrows and color some on?

  • @racerboy12345 I don't. If you noticed, I am blonde. So are my eyebrows. I just use a black pencil to shade them in. Sometimes brown, mostly black.

  • Can you bring sunscreen?

  • @flowers45621 I recommend that Soldiers of all colors and creeds bring sunscreen. The drill sergeants will not take sunscreen or lotion from you.

  • Is birth control allowed on base? I have a brand that stops my period for 3 months.

  • @MiladyMurderer Your prescriptions can be reviewed by a medical doctor. Chances are, you will not have it re-prescribed in basic, but rather in AIT when you get your annual lady exam. If you get the shot, my suggestion is to get it a few days before you ship off for basic. Otherwise, wait until you get to your unit and then get Mirena.

  • you r awsome!!!!!

  • thanks for the tips on BCT but was wondering if you would mind answering a question: Are girls allowed to wear their hair down if it is short enough?

See my hair has exsessive bulk and a lot of curl to it that makes it difficult to do anything with it. I know girls are not permitted to have their hair in ponytails so I was wondering if just having it down all the time would be alright during BCT.

  • my girl just left for MCT and it breaks my heart because she goes straight to job training. :'( not gona see her for at least 4 months

  • why does it matter about her eyebrows

  • You have my respect

  • @smildonfatalis1 its the army, not the Marines.

  • I'm joining the Army in three years and I was wondering if the girls are nice to eachother.

  • can people in the army have relations
