well..
what exactly would you like..nick berry to come back with heartbeat.
this was one of the best bits of british telly in years.
and it did work..
british tv is so fucking dumb, lowest common denominator stuff.
this was a great piece of film making and it is about time.
the lead was a little young, but he did a great job.
this had some of the best drama photography i have seen in a long time.
finally a british drama that stands up well against hbo drama.

Last episode was gripping, horrific in places, dark humour and thought provoking! As someone who grew up in red riding (still called west riding) in the 70's and 80's there are a lot of items i can associate with. Terrible child abuse and the abusers getting just what they deserve. Shame we cant do that in todays society and get away with... i mean our own judge, jury & of course executioner! I almost shouted 'YES' when the gun was drawn. Wont go on as spoilers are about.

The series was so good but it really scared me that whole "this is the North and we do what we fucking like" mentality.

I have heard this was really great, how do we get the film in USA? WIll it be on BBA America? WIll DVD be marketed here in US? I am so hooked on the great BBC productions
-
DVD is out next month, I'm sure something will surface by then.

Yeah this series was amazing just proper unpredictable and unlike anything that's been done before and the finale was so good, and I love the way they go on about the north and Yorkshire none stop.

Does anyone know who played BJ ?,he was brilliant, all in all a stellar cast, proper tv for a change.

I only saw part 1 - impossible here in the USA to see the rest. Can you contact me offline about spoilers? I'm interested in the John Dawson character. What does he do in the 3rd episode? It's just a flashback yes? Because we know what happened to John Dawson in episode 1 at the end of that episode.......

I loved it. If you wanna see a crap film watch "Outlaw" or "Hitcher". At least in this film, it's a good script and Sean Bean is given a great role to perform. Anything is better than watching crap reality TV on the telly right? At least this is about police corruption and media corruption, it has a redeeming reason for broadcast.

i only saw episode one and I really dig it. Pretty grim, grisly - creeped my shit out, but what can I say but that it made my bones rattle - great performance from entire cast. Big bummer, Channel 4 blocks downloads from America. Where are some LINKS to watch it free online? Please have mercy on us Yankees who are culturally deprived of Red Riding!

this is some of the best television produced in Britain in a decade, absolutely gripping from beginning to end, and the acting was superb, especially Sean Bean, simply brilliant top marks all round.
ayeh got trouble wit gippohs!
Does not work. The main actor is far too young & contemporary looking, the attempt to recreate or evoke the 70s is ( a la "Life on Mars" ) does not ring true...it's 1974 & the lad talks about "Lord John in Carnaby Street", then later he's playing King Crimson on his record player...someone has not done their research. The 70s milieu rarely works in tv & film because it invariably stands or falls by the depiction of cars, hairstyles & fashions. Why is it that kids are always cast in lead roles?

Don't forget the anaglypta wallpaper and glass-paneled doors as a backdrop.
