I didn't even realize John Charles Thomas was the singer in the commercial! Wow - No wonder I actually liked it. Still wouldn't buy an Audi though.

I love the Audi commercial - it's brilliant.
Here's a real treat - to hear the complete song by John Charles Thomas in its original record format for all to enjoy.
This commercial was produced by an English ad firm I believe. They deserve all kinds of accolades and awards.
And, I now want an Audi for some reason!

What no one seems to realize is that this song is from Johann Strauss' operetta, The Gypsy Baron, originally written in German. It is second only to Die Fledermaus in popularity by the composer.

Heard the refrain, 'open road, open sky'..the majesty of the voice drew me to look up the music and the singer...it is a wonderful piece!
