I'm level 1 and I just killed Sellus (guy in gold armour) cuz I wanted his cool stuff.. is this guy someone important on a quest later on or is it alright if he's just dead? Did I mess something up by killing him?

If you fuck up the main quest by killing someone, you get a special message. If not, you'll be able to complete the game, but maybe not some side quests.

I don't remember if that guy is involved in any quests or not.

How do you use magic,i dont understand?

Buy a spell, select it as your active spell, get ready for spellcasting and left click. Success chance depends on spell complexity, your skills and fatigue.

A little advice; don't use quick save it will corrupt your game soner or later.
