Just installed the TouchWiz UX last nite via Odin3. Credits goes to mughalgxt from Xda Developers.
Everything is smooth and beautiful. Everything feels much faster and no bugs experienced yet. Battery life feels much better also after the update.

Here's the instructions on how to use Odin3 as well as how to update to TouchWiz. No root requires but DO perform hard reset and clear/wipe cache on your device. You can also install the TouchWiz first and perform the hard reset afterwards before rebooting your device.

UPDATE ON YOUR OWN RISK! I WILL NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BREAK YOUR DEVICE!

How to Flash via Odin3:

Switch off the tab completely
Connect to PC
Wait for the battery Icon to display
Press power button followed by a second's delay left volume button (button near to power)
press left power button to choose odin (download mode) than right volume to confirm
Start odin (I used the one attached below) and place:
RE-PARTITION UNCHECK!
pit file in PIT
Bootloader in Bootloader
Code in PDA
CSc in CSc
press start and wait...........WAIT please be patience!!!

As for the error occurring in recovery mode during system wipe, manually factory reset and clear cache!

  • I see a way it could work you use the USB hub ans then connect the cord that came with the GTab. The one with a 30 pin at one side and a USB on the other end. Then you connect the HDMI adapter to the cord and there you go HDMI and multiple USB ports.

  • @BugattiNinja Thank you so much for the tip. Will definitely try it out once I get my adapter. do give us anymore tips if you have any. Highly appreciate it. CHEERS!!!

  • @Kickinloud well yes, using a usb hub gives you more usb ports, but it doesn't give you more 30-pin ports. you can't have hdmi out on a usb port since the adapter needs a 30-pin port.. But hey, if you can figure out a way to connect the usb and hdmi adapter at once, let me know.. that's all i need, actually.. thanks for the replies, i really appreciate them.

  • @neilbantoc37 What I meant is that, since the adapter has only 1 port for a USB port, then maybe we could connect a USB hub to it so we could connect multiple devices on the device. I really hope my adapter would arrive next week. Then I'd give you more information on that.

  • @Kickinloud Sorry, I think you misunderstood me. You need an adapter to use USB in, correct? Also, you need another adapter to use HDMI out. Since the GTab has only one 30-pin port, you can only use one of the adapters at a time, therefore you can't have HDMI out and USB in at the same time. That also means you can't play a video file on a USB stick and have it displayed on an HDTV. Is this correct or have you found a way to connect two adapters to the 30-pin, like a 30-pin hub or something.

  • @neilbantoc37 The USB adapter has only one port so yes....you can't use 2 at the same time. Lack of USB ports is due to the thin design of the tablet. Unless USB hub can be used along with the USB adapter. And as for placing 4+ gb files, I have yet to try. If what you mean is by transferring a file that is of 4gb then I'm not sure. The biggest file I have is about 1gb+. Do make more comparison on the tablets available before making your decision. Really hope I could help you a bit.

  • @Kickinloud I've been trying diceplayer on my Galaxy S as well, and success is varied, I'm afraid. But hey, it's single core unlike the Tab. I think I'm sold, but there is still one detail that's bugging my decision: is it correct that you can only use HDMI out OR USB in at a time? Meaning, I can't for example read a video file on my HDD while outputting to an HDTV? Well, i can just transfer to the internal storage, but even though it's NTFS, I read at XDA that you can't place 4+gb files.. true?

  • @donrhummy I find it a little bit faster. My tab usually gets really slow when I first switched on the wifi and it is loading. Once it settles down, it feels smooth

  • @mkillersuckzpussy My tab is the USA version but the TouchWiz is Eur version

  • @neilbantoc37 Hey there....sorry for the late reply. Our internet has been down for a week now. Will try to post the video as soon as I can. But, I read that diceplayer is a great alternatives that could play mkv files as well as other files on the tab without having to encode it. I tried the trial version and I have to say that I am highly impress with it.
