i dont understand what im looking at. is it supposed to be bad? i hear lots of bad things but every time theres a video from NK that is "smuggled" out, it doesnt show any more suffering or drama than you find in new york at 2am, at worst.

google earth shows some supposed death camps but theres never any evidence besides wild tales from former NK people who of course, are going to tell horror stories so they dont get sent back like china does. im sure its bad...its just never proven with video.

Given chance to lead N.Korea
I would personally approach USA and make terms..
I will produce enough warheads enough to defend North Korea.. I will maintain $5B to Military and continue exercise. But will close
Nuclear reactors and use Hydro power instead

I will use to surplus money to create more factories and start teaming up with South Korea in business and strengthen relationship in China.. produce more jobs
I will give greater freedom.
each day.. so that people wont be shocked

its ok. but all money goes to weapon production. Proverty means general living standard, not GDP. GDP can be meaningless in many circumstances.

If North Korea would spend $2 billion
in its military instead of $5 or 6
and spend $3 billion for their modernization
and try to open their market..
their condition would be fine..
I mean.. GDP/capita of $1100
isnt so bad that you wont survive at all
.. as long as u have
a job..
The DPRK spends so much
in their military and trainings
it is said 18 to 20%.. of their budget
is spent in Military

Here in the Philippines
GDP/capita is $1900.00

same with Indonesia..

when it was year 2001 our GDP/capita
was $981.00

Life that time was so hard w/o a job..

if you have job.. it is still hard..
but enough to survive..

GDP can be meaningless by many factors.
like the way the Economy goes..

and many more..

But its a summary of how rich a nation is
and the average person's value/year
