Since 1956, Dimola Brothers has been collecting valuable antique items that were tossed out or would otherwise have been disposed of in landfills. The owner, Nick Dimola has now opened up his large private collection of antique signs, toys, tools, appliances, bottles, memorabilia, license plates, and more. Nick of http://www.dimolabros.com has been cleaning out apartments, estates, offices, basements and other residential and commercial properties for many years. Through his recycling and junk removal business, he has amassed a considerable amount of items.

  • I've been in the junk removal business here in Chicago for 25 years. I pull materials out of the garbage that I think can be sold at the Flea Market. I only save things that I think can be sold quickly because storing all the junk and moving it to the Flea Market is a lot of work! In my opinion if you can't use something personally or if you can't sell something you obtain then you are a hoarder! When you die someone will hire a junk removal service to clean up after you!

  • @Chicagojunkhauler One man's trash it another man's treasure.

  • I've been reading the DiMola Bros blog for the past few months -- funny to have just come across this video now. I think it's cool that you've turned your job into a full-blown hobby, or even passion. Thanks for sharing. -Tess

  • This is really a cool video! I guess you guys can't go through all boxes you find but at least you can save some rare treasures. Seems like you have a good nose for antique stuff, keep up the good work!

  • @AudioMobil Somtimes something good pops up. Thanks.

  • Many times you can find treasures in estates. The best thing people can do when they need to clean out a house is to pick through everything and try to sell as much as possible. I know of someone who had to deal with their father's estate and there were many, many interesting items. He kept the estate sale going until the entire contents of the house were sold. It took a few weeks but it was worth it for him.

  • It's very cool that something can be diverted of your garbage truck!... So, you have an awesome collection! Continue... dear Nick!

  • The best finds are those that are salvaged from the garbage. :) Love that you're taking up the cause, you have some fantastic stuff!
