I think this is one of the best Phantom scenes in the movie, but I wish Gerard Butler did more swordfighting, because Patrick Wilson as Raoul did all of his without a stunt double. This scene also contains my favorite shot of the Phantom in the entire movie. ENJOY!

@MrWezlum18 I think it may have been intentional, since he has the whole cape-whirling thing going for him in other scenes of the movie as well. One thing that struck me was how the Phantom was pretty much silent throughout the whole thing...making him a shadow or a ghost of some sort :D

I don't know if it was done intentionally or not, but I like how when the Phantom is on the offensive he's like one big shadow from his cloak whirling about. It's cool touch.

@MrSherlockholmes02 Are you wondering if Gerard Butler as Erik/The Phantom really slashed open Patrick Wilson (Raoul)'s arm? I doubt it, they usually do it with special effects because very few people want to be intentionally hurt in the making of a movie. They probably did it with fake blood in a pouch attached to Patrick Wilson's arm or something--just a guess of mine. But you're right--it's very hard to tell.
