  • I don't think that the novel is suitable for a film remake. There are too many things that cannot be expressed through the art of film.

Cinema is more concerned with the actions of their protagonists. The novel is more concerned with the fears and desires of the characters.

  • Juliette Binoche was and still is one of the most beautiful women in the world. I've loved her ever since I saw this beautiful movie. Her dance in the cafe towrds the end of the movie, her beautiful expression and movements jsut melts my heart. Je t'adore Juliette.

  • As ever with American films, it's sex first and foremost, action, naked bodies, human relationships blah blah blah, beautiful women and men of course, all trivial surface foam, no depth. Not surprising the writer wrote a note to the Czech edition of the book saying that the movie had very little to do with the spirit either of the novel or the characters in it. What about the dog Karenin?

  • @randwan well i give shit what the auther himself was thinking about the movie. s. king did´nt like kubricks version of shining - today it´s a classic of horror-movies, and so on. of course there are bad examples of books to movie adpatations - but not in this case! what do you think?

  • @dustofsoul You do know Kundera hated the film right?

  • does anybody knows which is the name of the last song? sounds like a tango or something

  • there are only a few movies out in the world that have the power to touch you deeply. this is one of them. an almost perfect adaption of the well written novel by milan kundera. it´s all in there what our modern lives are about: love, tragedy, revolution, loss, grief and the The Unbearable Lightness of Being...

  • tonight on BBC1 .. enjoy :)

  • that is so awesome!

  • Im a huge DDL fan,but i dont think this is my type of film
