Tywyn is undergoing an exciting transformation. New Sea Defences are being built on the beach to protect the coast from flooding and continued erosion. The work has already attracted lots of attention, from holidaymakers visiting the town watching the project in action, to the news media who have reported on and filmed the ongoing work.
THE 2010 PLAN INCLUDES:
A rock breakwater at the Golden Sands end of the beach, new rock groynes, replacement of the wooden groynes, reconstruction/repair of slipways and steps along the length of the beach, and new sand.
