I really love Fairuz, she has an incredible touching voice and she's the classiest arabic singer ever.

Fairuz, one of the Arab world's most beloved singers, was born and raised in Lebanon, Fairuz began her musical career as a teenager. From chorus girl at the Lebanese radio station in the late 1940s, to critical and popular acclaim from the 1950's to today, Fairuz is acknowledged not only for her musical talent and contribution, but also as a cultural and political icon. A symbol of a people, a heritage, a quest for peace, and of humanity.

  • She's Christian right? I saw in wikipedia written said she was Lebanese Christian. but she's just like muslim women for me, it juts weird...

  • @lizzysari

    Yes she is a christian....

why she's 'just like a muslim woman' for you? xp She is brilliant!

  • @Masherin I mean her name "Fairuz" which is Arabic muslim name,,,which mean a diamond(maybe)

I know alot Lebanese Christian names but all of them indicated that they are Christians like Khalil Gibran,Shakira,Bessaria,etc.., but Fairuz (as I know) is commonly used by muslims

and Don't you think "Fairuz "is a name for a man? is funny this name used by a woman. the woman version of Fairuz should be called "Fairuzah". in my Country(Indonesia) there are 3 men actors who named "Fairuz", N all muslims.

  • @lizzysari

Oh I thought it was a girl name actually...otherwise it's just unisex, fairuzah sounds ugly.

Her real name is Nouhad Haddad, she gave herself the name fairuz.

But why the name should be muslim? Its just arabic with a beautiful meaning.

I dont see how khalil en shakira should be christians names? I know muslims who have those names.

  • But WHAT is this lovely song? The name?

  • @stagethyme7

This beautiful song is called 'Ya hawa Beirut'

    Enjoy.

  • Why still people is asking about other religions.....Fairuz is An Arabic Singer....she belongs to all Arabs...She might be Christian, Muslim, Jewish or atheist....just stop ....please....stop asking about religion ....religions destroyed your region and destroyed the world.

  • @mireille4joe in a strange way and biased you fail to include Israelis that have massacred Lebanon more than once...

  • You the evil followers iranians and syrian leave Lebanon alone, leave the Phoenicians in peace to live in their own land free from your aggression and demonic spirits. No matter how you try to harm this land, the land of GOD, he will trow fires and burns you down to ashes.

The day has come to be meet your faith.

God bless his land and Cedars.

  • by the way my brother's name is also

Elias . what a beautiful biblical name.

  • Real Lebanese are Phoenicians in the blood and mind of the land of milk and honey. the Cedars in the bible were called the garden and cedars of GOD. that's how special this land is in the eyes of GOD. and just look what the iranians and syrians are doing to it.

    Yoseph

  • too bad such a miraculous Phoenician voice to be in a country full of hate from the iranians and syirans haters. from Zibb alla to the illeterates syrians that came from the donkey's eras
