Whirlpool Duet Sport HT Washer (spin cylce #1)

Whirlpool Duet Sport HT High Efficiency Washer, purchased July 10, 2008 from Lowes Hardware, Chantilly, VA. Shown here just 10 days after a major service from a local Whirlpool-approved appliance contractor, who carefully check the machine over, including the balance/leveling (which I have checked repeatedly over the last 8 months). Does this machine sound/look normal to you? In this video, the first spin cylce is starting (duration 1:26). As you can clearly see, this machine is incredibly loud and shakes the whole house. We have have no fewer than 6 service calls from Lowes and Whirlpool-contracted repair folks (A&E), all of whom report officially that the machine is perfectly normal. Off the record, they report that the machine does have serious problems and is unfixable until Whirlpool and Lowes agree to a return. Neither will agree to a return.n We suggest that you strongly reconsider buying this machine, which, in our opinion it is poorly engineered and has some serious endemic problems with noise, shaking, and balance. We are very unhappy that Lowes and Whirlpool will not take the machine back for a return.
