Description: Snape's point of view. Snape was in love with Lily but she wasn't intrested in Snape and went off and married James Potter. Snape was devestated and this is what caused him to become a Death Eater. When Harry comes to Hogwarts, all the memories of how she hurt him come flooding back to him. Snape is horrible to Harry because of what his mother did to him. He wants Lily to be punished for what she did and so he wants to punish Harry. However seeing Lily in Harry's eyes causes him to do things for Harry too like saving his life and looking out for him. In the end, Snape realises Harry is NOT Lily and he has done nothing wrong and he apoligizes for being cruel to him.

lily was the only salvation for snape really....it showed that only one person is needed to make a difference in one's perspective about life and love. w/o lily, snape would have wound up as cold-hearted as riddle.
it was such a shame that snape felt compelled and drawn to the dark arts, but i think it makes sense coming from his background and family ordeal. i hope we all have a "lily" in our lives =)
