I remember part of the intro, it showed exciting crashes and action but in the actual show it was all horse racing and footy and horse racing and rugby and horse racing and then more horse racing. Still, I'd give anything to get those days back.

this isnt the world of sport intro. its a mashup, it finished in 1985 but its got michael owen from wc98. and other bits.

@scurrie42 further to your comment that is not Jackie Pallo in the wrestling clip it is Beautiful Bobby Barnes from Maidstone. The other wrestler was infact catweazle who you mentioned, named after the tv character around at the same time. Sadly Catweazle is no longer with us.

I can't watch this without smiling, how fun were the 70s. Great to see Jackie Pallo at the end of the clip, who was the other wrestler? I seem to remember there was one that called himself Catweazle....

Such fun Saturdays either this or grandstand or the movie matinees on bbc 2 (usually in black and white) no ps 3s or dvds so it was of to my mates to shoot the action men dressed in german uniforms and other games that involved social interaction. Great times

Reminds me of a time when someone could streak at a FA cup quarter final and get shuffled off by a couple of coppers to a cheering and entertained crowd and laughing TV audience- rather than the streaker getting battered by security guards arrested by the police and prosecuted by the CPS because the FA's corporate sponsors and shareholders would demand nothing less.

Great days! They should never have cancelled this show. I remember many happy afternoons of my childhood watching the wrestling and waiting for your mum and dad to come back from shopping and hoping they bought you something nice.
