why is a white girl signing this song
-
@ILovePeetaMellark this song is about black criminals being lynched
-
@ww2footage This song is not about hanged criminals. It's about black people LYNCHED by the KKK and other extremists . Lynching is illegal hanging, and usually, the person was innocent or had only commitied a minor crime, and were hanged purely because of racism.
So yeah, it was a form of terrorism, because it inflicted terror.

@Stardaa so if criminals are hanged , it is "terrorism" ? are you nut?

@mistervanderveer Abel Meeropol was not white nor caucasian ,he was jewish racist

Great song, great voice, if you dont like it fuck off. For all you American bigots: Strange Fruit was written by a caucasian (white, for the ignorant.) teacher from the Bronx named Abel Meeropol. I quote: "I wrote "Strange Fruit" because I hate lynching and I hate injustice and I hate people who perpuate it." Billy Holiday was the first to sing it, to befit the context I guess. Do your fucking research before flaming this beautiful girl whom happens to be special to me. Thanks, have a nice life.

how can the singer in this clip smile after singing of the horrific terrorist acts to a group of people?

A single voice can change the world if but one person opens their heart and mind to it's haunting message. This song sees not the color of our skin nor understand the character of our souls. This song speaks of truth... The truth of the cruelty found within humanity...
